Organizing notes
The sidebar list, titles, renaming, and searching across notes
Organizing notes
Every note you record lives in the sidebar list on the left, newest first.
The notes list
Each row shows the note's title, and below it when it was recorded and how long it ran (for example, "27m ago - 0:13"). The most recent note sits at the top. Click any row to open it in the editor; the transcript panel reopens with it.
Titles
- A new recording starts as "New Transcript".
- When an AI summary is written, the title updates automatically to match the summary, so the list reads like a set of headlines.
- You can rename any note yourself: double-click its row, or right-click it and choose Rename. Once you rename a note by hand, automatic summaries no longer change its title.
The row menu
Right-click a note for quick actions:
- Rename
- Copy as Markdown - puts the note on your clipboard.
- Export as .md / Export as .docx - save a file (see Exporting).
- Delete
Searching across notes
Press Cmd+Shift+F (Ctrl+Shift+F on Windows), or the search button in the top bar, to open a search palette in the center of the screen. It matches note titles and transcript text; pick a result to open that note. The search button is always in the top bar - including on the Settings and Account pages - so you can jump to any note from anywhere.
Cmd+F searches within the open note; Cmd+Shift+F searches across all notes. See Keyboard shortcuts.
Starting fresh
The new note button (home icon) in the top bar clears the editor to an empty state, ready for a new recording. It works from anywhere in Foxl Notes.
